Specialist Application Integration with ShoreTel's Unified Communications System Increases Productivity

UNITED KINGDOM, London, May 27, 2008 - ShoreTel, Inc., (NASDAQ: SHOR), a leading provider of Pure IP Unified Communications solutions, today announced that CVUK, a leading UK based recruitment company, is using ShoreTel's Unified Communications (UC) system to improve the productivity of its staff. By integrating its business-critical communications, IT systems and applications, CVUK estimates that it has increased the efficiency of business processes and reduced costs.

CVUK has experienced a number of benefits since using the ShoreTel's UC system, most notably the ability to route inbound calls dynamically to available staff, and the integration of the voice communications within CVUK's recruitment software, ApplicantExtra. ApplicantExtra is a software application that aids the control and flow of a candidate through the recruitment process. Now the full integration with ShoreTel's Unified Communications system means that all inbound calls have their Calling Line Identity passed by ShoreTel's UC system to the ApplicantExtra database, which looks up and automatically displays the record of the caller to the answering recruitment consultant. Meanwhile, outbound calling uses the ShoreWare® Web Dialer to enable point and click dialling of any phone number in ApplicantExtra, and the ShoreTel UC system is able to automatically keep a log of all calls received.

CVUK employees no longer use telephones, but instead use headsets plugged into their computers in conjunction with the ShoreTel's SoftPhone desktop utility. To call a number they simply click on the contact in the ApplicantExtra system, and make notes of the conversation directly into the computer record, saving an estimated 2 to 3 minutes per call.

At the heart of the new system is the ShoreGear® 120 voice switch, which offers call management and the ability to unify communications across multiple locations, increasing employee productivity and enabling customer satisfaction. Based on a distributed architecture, the switch supports up to 120 IP phones, SoftPhones and other IP endpoints, and can be easily expanded to accommodate new users and office locations. Unified communications features such as e-mail delivery of voicemail messages has simplified message archiving and made it easier for staff to share messages with colleagues.
