SUNNYVALE, CA, July 17, 2007 - ShoreTel, Inc., (NASDAQ: SHOR), a leading provider of enterprise IP telephony solutions, today announced the ShoreTel IP 8000, a high performance IP conference phone that delivers extraordinary audio quality and double the room coverage of legacy conference phones. With the ShoreTel IP 8000, ShoreTel enables enterprises to maximize productivity in collaborative corporate environments, and provides a one-stop shopping experience for existing ShoreTel customers seeking to integrate conference phones into their overall telephony solutions.

Cutting-Edge Technologies Transform Conference Call Quality on Both Ends

The ShoreTel IP 8000's advanced technologies raise voice input and audio output quality to unprecedented levels. The device revolutionizes input by incorporating 16 always-on, beam-forming microphones arranged in ShoreTel's exclusive, patent-pending Circular Microphone Array™ format. Beam-forming increases the receiver sensitivity in the direction of wanted signals and decreases the sensitivity in the direction of interference and noise. As such, ShoreTel's Circular Microphone Array enables anyone who speaks to be heard crisply and clearly by call recipients and eliminates unwanted noise from projectors or notebook computers that may reside on the conference table.

The ShoreTel IP 8000 further enhances input quality through its enhanced Radio Frequency Immunity, which eliminates distracting interference from cell phones, PDAs, and other electronic devices in the conference room. In addition, the ShoreTel IP 8000's titanium speaker driver and tuned ported enclosure reduce unwanted distortion up to 10 times more effectively than other conference phones.

"The ShoreTel IP 8000 has it all - a sleek design, great voice quality, advanced functionality and investment protection," said John Dyer, systems administrator at Bill Wright Toyota. "The phone has easily outperformed our previous conference phone. When we're on conference calls now, everyone involved is heard and understood effortlessly, no matter where they're positioned. The ShoreTel IP 8000 is simply a pleasure to use."

Thoughtful Design Touches, Seamless Integration

The ShoreTel IP 8000's elegant, non-intrusive design eliminates the need for additional microphone pods and subwoofers. Software-based and remotely programmable, the device features an intuitive keypad and display that facilitate the addition of call participants through the simple touch of a button. Its three-way local conferencing capabilities permit users to host ad-hoc conferences without consuming PBX or audio bridge resources. Finally, the SIP-compliant IP 8000 integrates seamlessly with ShoreTel's comprehensive suite of IP telephony solutions, giving customers easy access to the productivity-enhancing features that distinguish its overall offering. Moreover, the self-contained ShoreTel IP 8000 shares similar pricing with competing base units that require expensive add-ons for optimal performance.

"With the release of the ShoreTel IP 8000, ShoreTel becomes a one-stop-shop for enterprises in search of leading IP telephony and conference phone solutions," said Steve Timmerman, vice president of marketing at ShoreTel. "We are proud to extend our suite of telephony solutions with this product that targets collaboration and productivity gains through improved communications."
