ShoreTel Doubles Number of New Customers in Asia in FY2013

ShoreTel unified communications billings to distributors increased 69 percent year-over-year

SINGAPORE, Nov. 14, 2013 – ShoreTel® (NASDAQ; SHOR), the leading provider of brilliantly simple phone systems and unified communications solutions, continues to gain market share in Asia*, with the number of net new ShoreTel end-user customers doubling in the last 12 month period ended June 30, 2013. As part of its growth strategy, ShoreTel also announced the appointment of Ingram Micro Asia, Ltd as a value-added distributor in Singapore, enhancing its two-tier distribution model throughout the region.

Indicative of its local success, enterprise customers in Asia recently voted ShoreTel the ‘Rising Star’ in the 2013 NetworkWorld Asia Readers’ Choice Awards for its innovative communication and collaboration solutions.

“It’s clear we are experiencing, and being recognised for, our strong growth across Asia with more organisations adopting our business communication solutions to increase customer satisfaction and improve employee productivity,” said Bruce Downing, managing director of ShoreTel Asia and South Africa. “The results speak for themselves with an increase of 17 percent in licenses sold year-over-year during FY13.”

Largely as a result of the company’s two-tier distribution model, ShoreTel grew the number of licenses sold in the Philippines and India by 31 percent and 143 percent year-over-year respectively. With a Go To Market model that is completely indirect, the company grew billings to distributors by 69 percent year-over-year. Adding to their success in the region, ShoreTel has seen mobile unified communications fueling an uptake of ShoreTel Mobility by 115 percent year-over-year in Asia.

Ingram Micro has significant experience in channel enablement and their expertise will assist ShoreTel in reaching our growth goals.”

ShoreTel announced the new partnership during the Ingram Micro New Frontier event hosted in Singapore, 11-12 November 2013. The event showcased Ingram Micro’s broad portfolio of market offerings to its reseller and end-user network. Ingram Micro and ShoreTel will work closely to leverage the distributor’s voice and data resellers to add new partners with the right capabilities to ShoreTel’s existing, focused and highly successful channel base in Asia.
