Rick Parkinson has joined the company as chief information officer. In this capacity, he directs the strategy and use of technology for ShoreTel's internal and external business operations. Walt Weisner was appointed vice president of Global Support Services. Both seasoned executives with decades of experience in communication technology companies, they report to ShoreTel president and CEO, John W. Combs.

Weisner comes to ShoreTel with more than 20 years of telecommunications experience and is responsible for the company's growing global support services including technical assistance center, professional services, ShoreTel University, customer support and customer satisfaction programs. Prior to ShoreTel, Weisner served as vice president of Global Support Services for WebEx Communications where he was responsible for worldwide call center operations, account management, installed-base revenue programs and overall customer satisfaction. Before WebEx, Weisner held the position of executive vice president of operations and support for InternetConnect, a nationwide ISP providing Virtual Private Networks for the SME market. He also served as senior director of customer operations and support for Nextel Communications Southwest region, and he has held positions in product management and product development for companies including WorldCom, MICOM Communications, and Fujitsu. Weisner holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Cleveland State University.

Parkinson brings more than 25 years of IT experience to ShoreTel, serving in senior management and technology leadership roles. Parkinson also owns responsibility for improving channel partner business productivity through the use of ShoreTel technology solutions. Before joining ShoreTel, he served as vice president at GlobalNetXchange, the world's largest retail-focused application service provider (ASP), with responsibility for web site operations supporting large auction and supply chain transactions. As vice president of technology operations at Cymerc Exchange, he led the development and operations of a business-to-business exchange. Parkinson has also held senior management and strategic planning positions at Intuit, supporting the design and build out of the Intuit Internet-based services environment, and he held a variety of management and technology positions at Lockheed-Martin and NCR. Parkinson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from California State University.
