SUNNYVALE, CA, March 12, 2003 - Shoreline Communications, a pioneer in the development of IP PBX systems, today announced the appointment of Janet Gregory as vice president of worldwide sales. She has extensive management experience with successful and innovative telephony companies, including ROLM, Octel Communications, and Latitude. Gregory will manage the sales channels for Shoreline's award-winning IP PBX products and reports to Thomas T. van Overbeek, president and CEO.

"Janet has an outstanding reputation for building highly effective networks of channel partners at ROLM, Octel and Latitude," said van Overbeek. "What struck us about Janet was her understanding that a positive end-user customer experience is essential to building a business like Shoreline's. Our customers are in markets that are highly demanding, such as Professional Services and Financial Services, where the phone system is their lifeline. Janet believes in a "win-win" approach to the channel because this is the only way to develop reseller partners who care about the end-user customer. Janet is the caliber of sales executive Shoreline needs to continue the strong revenue growth we have been experiencing."

Prior to joining Shoreline, Gregory spent three years with KickStart Alliance helping start-up companies set up their sales operations. Prior to that, she was the original VP of Sales at Latitude Communications, a pioneer in voice and web conferencing. In her six years at Latitude, she took the company from zero to $40M in revenue, profitability, and a successful IPO. Before her tenure at Latitude, Gregory worked in both the service provider and CPE divisions of Octel Communications (later acquired by Lucent and spun off into Avaya). She started her telecom career with nine years at ROLM/IBM (later acquired by Siemens). Gregory is an active member of the Advisory Boards of East Bay Venture Forum, Sylantro Communications, and noHold. She graduated magna cum laude from Guilford College in Greensboro, NC and holds a B.A. in English.

"In its six-year history, Shoreline has built a base of tens of thousands of passionate users and a solid, feature-rich system. The voice over IP PBX market is an incredible place to be. It is growing like crazy because VoIP is replacing the legacy switched circuit technology. Shoreline is one of the really exciting companies in the VoIP market because we understand how to apply the technology to improve service levels and productivity in knowledge-based businesses better than the larger, but less focused, traditional vendors. It's a great combination that I just couldn't pass up."
