Based on the company's Distributed Internet Voice Architecture (DIVA) software, the new Shoreline IP Voice Communications System 2.0 delivers enterprise-class scalability, supporting up to 5,000 users distributed across dozens of locations. In addition, Shoreline's award-winning solution provides unified messaging through Microsoft Outlook, a rich set of integrated voice services, support for remote teleworkers and SOHO environments, cost savings through toll bypass, enabling voice to "ride free" across the IP network, and the ability to manage multiple sites as a single, integrated system.

The N+I Best of Show Awards program - sponsored by CMP's Internet Week and Network Computing magazines - helps IT professionals determine which new products are most unique and innovative in their quest to provide excellence in networking. Shoreline's enterprise-class IP voice communications system 2.0 was singled out to receive this honor from a field of more than 300 entries.

"All of the winners were chosen based on a rigorous evaluation process," said Wayne Rash, Managing Editor/Technology for InternetWeek and head of the joint editorial judging team with Network Computing for the Best of Show Awards. "We picked Shoreline Communications IP Voice Communications System 2.0 because we believe it's one of the most innovative solutions in the IP Telephony category," explained Rob Kolhlhepp, Lab Director for Network Computing .

"Winning the "Best of Show" award is consistent with the amazing response we have seen from the market since the release of 2.0," said John Fazio, president and CEO of Shoreline Communications. "We are committed to providing application rich, highly available, distributed IP voice platforms to the enterprise and ASP markets while continuing to deliver unmatched simplicity that users and administrators demand."

Shoreline's architecture uses ShoreGear IP voice switches to distribute call handling intelligence across multiple locations, while NT-based ShoreWare software delivers voice services to every user on the network, regardless of physical location. ShoreWare Director software provides a comprehensive view of the entire network, greatly simplifies such normally complex configuration and administration tasks, and empowers IT staff to easily manage the network from a single location.
