SUNNYVALE, CA, May 7, 2002 - Shoreline Communications, a developer of enterprise-class IP PBX systems, today announced a partnership with Polycom®, Inc. (NASDAQ: PLCM), a worldwide leader in the convergence of interactive voice, video, data and web communications, to deliver an end-to-end IP PBX solution that combines the Shoreline4 distributed IP Voice Architecture with an integrated, Shoreline-branded version of Polycom's standards-based SoundPoint® IP desktop phones.

"This relationship is all about standards and choice," said Thomas van Overbeek, CEO and president of Shoreline. "It gives customers the power to go with analog or IP while still enjoying robust applications delivered with enterprise-class reliability and voice quality across all locations. It unlocks the power of a truly distributed IP-PBX system."

"Our agreement with Shoreline is part of Polycom's strategy to facilitate the growth and adoption of IP telephony solutions through partnerships with IP PBX suppliers," said Sunil Bhalla, senior vice president and general manager of voice communications at Polycom. "Polycom's full-duplex SoundPoint IP 500, with it's large LCD display, delivers an optimal interface to the Shoreline4 architecture, offering customers a standards-based IP telephony solution that is high quality, feature rich and easy to use."

The new Shoreline4 IP phone system with Polycom SoundPoint IP 500 phones has been deployed at the Networld+Interop exposition and conference being held May 5-10, 2002 in Las Vegas, and is providing IP voice dial tone for all critical show operations. The entire system simulates the performance of a 30-site enterprise with a 4000-port capacity, and was set up in four days.
