We hope you all enjoyed the Labor Day holiday.

This year, ShoreTel had additional reason to celebrate all of us who work hard to free you from complexity. Despite the recent Labor Department report showing stagnant payroll growth, here at ShoreTel we’re bucking that trend, because part of our business strategy is to invest in our No. 1 asset – our people.

Over the past year, we’ve increased our sales headcount by close to 50 percent and our overall employee headcount by 30 percent. There are currently over 150 ShoreTel job openings around the world, including openings with our partners.

It may be a Silicon Valley cliché to say “work hard/play hard,” but we do firmly believe that a strong relationship among the people we work with can greatly enhance productivity. This is especially true as the definition of work changes.

Work is no longer a location. It’s an activity. Projects and tasks can be accomplished from an office, cube, couch or lounge chair. And as a result, teams spread across multiple geographies and time zones often look forward to the opportunity to enjoy each other’s social company.

Last week, one group decided to escape the enclosure of walls for a while and take in a game of bocce.

With ShoreTel Mobility and the ease of our unified communications solution – no one needed to worry that an important message would get missed.

Our solution makes communications brilliantly simple, while giving businesses the freedom to innovate in their own industry. Both our corporate culture and our company's success reflect our commitment to the core values we uphold in our daily interactions with customers, partners, stockholders, and one another. We are committed to creating more than just happy customers—we want raving fans. While ShoreTel employees work hard to fulfill this objective, we also encourage everyone to have fun while doing it.

Our casual work environment, respect for the work/life balance, and family-oriented, team-based atmosphere go a long way towards helping bring out the best in our employees.

A recent blog post by the Great Place to WorkInstitute notes that great companies create a “give value, get value” scenario for employees…work does not detract from life but enhances life by integrating employees values, families, physical and mental well-being, and personal sense of fulfillment in a dynamic web of interactions and programs that support not just the employee, but the whole person.”

We couldn’t agree more. Check out our open positions to see how you can become part of our team.
