ShoreTel Newsletter: Tips to Maximize Home Working, IP Telephony Security Checklist
Despite some recent concerns that working from home may encourage goofing off, surveys actually show significant productivity increases with home working.
This month’s edition of the ShoreTel Newsletter offers four tips on avoiding distractions in your home environment and maximizing your efforts. One way to stay connected at home is to use ShoreTel Dock to transform your tablet and iPhone into a deskphone, which, when paired with ShoreTel Mobility, lets users access a unified communications system from their mobile devices.
Also in the newsletter is an article offering a nine-point checklist for securing VoIP and unified communications. In a sign of the high importance of security concerns, earlier this month President Obama raised the subject of hacking and industrial espionage with Chinese President Xi Jinping during the summit between the U.S. and China.
The ShoreTel article says now is the time for organizations which rely on VoIP and unified communications to reassess what they need to do to protect themselves and make sure they’re following the best practices of information security. The nine points amount to a roadmap for security.
The newsletter also highlights current press releases, including one announcing ShoreTel’s market share gains in Enterprise IP and UC as a service in the U.S. In addition, check out success stories such as that of Cincinnati, Ohio-based DOWNLITE, America’s premier manufacturer of down and feather bedding, which recently deployed ShoreTel Voice Switches and IP Phones.
