ShoreTel at HIMSS Healthcare Conference: The Wearable UC Trend

This week’s HIMSS (Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society) tradeshow is the largest medical conference in the country, with more than 35,000 attendees from all types of medical institutions.

We're pleased to serve many of them with our unified communications solution, including Doctor's Hospital at Renaissance, Carson Tahoe Medical, Quest Diagnostics and the Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society, just to name a few. It was such a busy week – I felt like I met every one of our 2,000,000 users around the world on the show floor.

If there was a word of the show, it would be "mobility.” Every person coming into our booth was focused on helping medical personnel get the most out of their smart phones.

I call it "wearable UC", because the mobile nature of the smart phone makes staff reachable anywhere within a medical facility, resulting in superior patient care. The cool thing is it works with Cisco and Avaya, and most other IP PBX systems. So every attendee gets to hear about a solution they can use – no matter what IP PBX they have.

Coming up in a few weeks is Enterprise Connect in Orlando, where we will highlight our mobility partnership with HP, and share our success with our brilliantly simple collaboration and mobility solutions used around the world.

Hope to see you there!
