ShoreTel Employees Get Fit

For the past two months, ShoreTel employees have been hitting the streets and the pool en masse, armed with Fitbits, GCC Pulses and other devices with one sole purpose -- to get fit.

As part of the Global Corporate Challenge (GCC), we encouraged our employees to make a team of seven co-workers, get a device and log in the amount of steps, bike miles and swim distance they performed each day. ShoreTel employees are now in the final stage of the Get the World Moving, Global Corporate 100-day Challenge with now just 14 days go!

It’s a journey that has helped our employees increase their physical activity levels, improve their diet and the quality of their sleep. The challenge is linked to a global map that has tracked this movement of walking across the United States of America 34,273 times. Or, if you’re more Lunar inclined, participants have walked from the Earth to the Moon 402 times.

The lead ShoreTel team “Furious 7” has logged an impressive 13,842,790 steps for a total of 5,505 miles. The top ShoreTel participant Michael Schock, is a member of the “Couch Potatoes”. But clearly the team name does not do him justice with a step average of 34,762 per day and a personal best of 58,602!

Overall, the GCC has been a journey that has helped our employees increase their physical activity levels, improve their diet and the quality of their sleep. We believe ShoreTel employees are happiest with a work-life balance that includes a healthy balance of physical fitness, great sleep and inspiring and engaging work.
