ShoreTel Connect Creates Buzz at Gartner ITxpo

Last week at the Gartner Symposium/ITxpo I had the pleasure of meeting many current ShoreTel customers, as well as people who were interested in ShoreTel Connect and the possibilities it presents to their business.

ShoreTel Connect Gartner ITexpo Many of these people talked about their collaboration needs and I revealed the powerful collaboration capabilities of the new ShoreTel Connect client. Almost all of them were interested in what ShoreTel Connect has to offer to their organization.

The following is the feedback around ShoreTel Connect I received during this exciting event:

  • Current customers loved that presence is available when searching the system directory.
  • Our current customers also were impressed that the functionality of Groups in the ShoreTel Connect client. These functions were previously available in the Contacts tab in Communicator.
  • Many customers commented about the tight integration with Outlook when scheduling conferences. Customers loved the fact that when creating an event in the ShoreTel Connect client, it opens the calendar invitation in Outlook with a nice new look and feel.

The number one comment about the ShoreTel Connect client from both potential and current ShoreTel customers was that they loved the integration with Outlook. When a user sets an agenda in the ShoreTel Connect client, it carries over to Outlook in color. Once the meeting starts, a moving ball tracks the meeting time based on the agenda, which helps people stay focused during meetings.

It’s an exciting time here at ShoreTel with our new ShoreTel Connect. Clearly the excitement is growing among our current customers and potentially new customers.
