ShoreTel And Microsoft Integration

It’s no secret people find a sense of comfort in their routine. And technology is constantly changing the way we communicate – both in terms of the tools available and people’s preferences.

Ultimately, people want to drive their unified communications interactions from the environment they live in. Additionally, enterprises may prefer to standardize on existing platforms without forcing end-users to switch or learn new tools when looking to enhance social communications.

At least one of the tools you already use is likely developed by Microsoft. Love them or hate them, Microsoft is an industry leader in the business environment. Among Exchange, Outlook and the Office Suite applications – they’ve become a ubiquitous presence on enterprise desktops.

Email, especially, is such a prevalent and embedded part of the corporate environment because – for better or worse – people routinely base their communication/interactions from email. It’s a virtual home base, if you will.

So how does ShoreTel integrate with Microsoft? It works two ways – by embedding capabilities into Outlook or cooperating with companies that already have the Lync client installed. The ShoreTel UC system plays nicely with Lync or Office Communication Server and Exchange in the data center, or Office Communicator and Outlook on the desktop.

There is no one size fits all communications solution, which is why ShoreTel offers several integration options for customers using both ShoreTel and Microsoft products in their UC deployment. This enables end-users to continue using Microsoft Lync, while taking advantage of the rich functionality in the ShoreTel UC system.

Support of open standards provides flexibility to integrate leading business process applications with a full-featured UC solution. It allows enhanced productivity tools to seamlessly slide into a users daily routine.
