This is the first blog in a two part series reviewing ShoreTel's achievements in Asia in 2014.

With 2015 in full swing and many exciting new developments in the works, I recently stopped and reflected on what ShoreTel achieved in 2014 and how that momentum has carried over to this year.

For me, one of the biggest highlights of 2014 was when the ShoreTel Dock won the International Gold Stevie Award for New Technology Product of the Year and New Business Product of the Year. It was an impressive achievement for ShoreTel, since we beat out many other products from companies around the world.

Plus, ShoreTel won NetworkWorld Asia’s 2014 Unified Communications and Collaboration Reader’s Choice Award. After winning an award in 2013 for the Rising Star in Communication and Collaboration category, in 2014, we returned as the winner in the Unified Communications and Collaboration category.

Victor Ng, Southeast Asia bureau chief at NetworkWorld Asia and Questex Asia said, “This award will provide ShoreTel with prestigious industry recognition with its peers, as well as our readers who make the critical IT buying decisions for their companies."

Also in 2014, ShoreTel appointed Frederic Gillant as vice president and managing director for Asia Pacific. Based in Singapore, Frederic is now leading ShoreTel’s go-to-market strategy across Asia Pacific. His experience is a great asset to ShoreTel as we continue to grow and expand operations.

ShoreTel also continued to invest in our channel partners with the launch of our revised Champion Partner Program worldwide. This program aims to help ShoreTel partners not only embrace the cloud services model in general but also go-to-market with ShoreTel's Sky portfolio.

Also related to the channel partners, the Asia Partner Roadshow had ShoreTel product management directors Rich Winslow and Ed Wright, and channel programs director Jeff Mattan do some globe trotting in a tour of five countries in 10 days across Asia Pacific (APAC). Our APAC channel community of systems integrators, business partners and distributors flew in to hear the ShoreTel executive team discuss the company’s UC market leadership, product roadmap and details of the expanded Champion Partner Program.

This APAC channel roadshow included seven half day events, four media interviews, two analyst briefings and an executive dinner for customers and key partners. Plus, it featured a 20:20 cricket game attended by an English fan masquerading as an American. It was extremely beneficial for our partners and customers!
