Forbes stated that CCOs are now responsible for aligning business strategies with telecommunication and collaborative endeavors to improve the odds that their enterprise can win their customers' loyalty, maximize revenue streams and operate more efficiently. In many cases, decision-makers will need to replace their old phone system with a more innovative platform capable of providing users with more features and opportunities to improve efficiency. Rather than using the outdated land line solution, for example, a large portion of the business world is moving to VoIP.
Tomorrow's voice landscape
Managing the enterprises' reputation is often one of the most difficult tasks charged to executives throughout the private sector. Because collaboration with colleagues, clients and partners has become such an important aspect of today's business world, augmenting communications to enhance reputation management is critical, Forbes noted. Rather than being known as an organization with frequent downtime, a poor contact center and inefficient customer service, companies need to consider making changes to give themselves a better persona.
A study by Forrester Research highlighted how leveraging enterprise VoIP services can introduce a number of opportunities to companies. The survey found that roughly 54 percent of North American businesses are either implementing VoIP or have completed the deployment. While there are a number of reasons associated with using IP technologies, VoIP enables organizations to streamline operations by consolidating infrastructure and combining voice and data.
Forrester Research noted that roughly 38 percent of North American enterprises are also considering or planning to adopt VoIP in the near future. This suggests that the age of the land line phone service is almost completely gone, as businesses are now focused on embracing high-quality voice services that will improve collaboration, operations and their reputation.
In the coming years, communication will continue to play an important role in the development of the private sector, as no company can survive in today's sophisticated IT landscape without innovative tools that support remote connectivity. By planning ahead and working with trusted service providers, decision-makers can find the tools that meet their organizations' requirements needs, allowing them to embrace new opportunities to gain a competitive advantage.
