Combining Cloud and Mobility Solutions to Extend Collaboration

Long before Apple’s Steve Wozniak teamed up with Steve Jobs or HP’s Bill Hewlett joined forces with David Packard, collaboration had been a key component of many company’s successes.

But though it’s the leaders who often get attention, collaboration at the working level is what drives business over the long term. It takes a team to develop a software product, or design an office building, or streamline the processes on a manufacturing line. And as business itself becomes more complex, teams increasingly depend on unified communication (UC) technology to interact, share information and maintain momentum.

Not so long ago, teams were made up of people located in a single building or corporate campus. The cloud’s ability to host large amounts of information, combined with the mobile network’s ability to share and manipulate it in real time from almost anywhere, allows teams to work flexibly and quickly.

When cloud and mobility solutions are truly integrated, users can get to work without worrying about software downloads, system compatibility or other technical issues. With the ability to work across devices, they can access tools from whatever platform makes the most sense for them at that moment – a desktop when they’re in the office, a tablet when they’re on the road, or a smartphone when they’re on the train home.

The idea is to make the team’s access to information and each other as seamless as possible. That way, they can spend their time collaborating on their work wherever they are, not letting time spin away as they wait for the next meeting.
