Investment Research Firm Replaces In-House PBX with Outsourced VoIP Phone System

New York –
M5 Networks, the Northeast's leading outsourced IP phone system provider, today announced that it now serves more than 400 New York area businesses with the addition of The Argus Research Group, Inc. to its client roster. With over 100 employees spread across offices in Manhattan, Long Island, Connecticut and the United Kingdom, Argus Research Group and its affiliates have been providing independent investment research since 1934. The company chose M5's Outsourced IP Phone System to centralize communications between its US offices.

Before switching to M5, Argus used the same premises-based phone system in two of its offices, and all three existing phone systems were in use for an average of eighteen years. During their search, Argus sought a solution that would consolidate communication for the offices and support remote workers, including analysts, data entry clerks, and sales staff—something the previous systems were unable to do. Also, the company no longer wanted to be responsible for maintaining expensive phone system equipment. To select and deploy its new hosted IP phone system, Argus worked together closely with M5 Certified Partner, Lincoln Computer Services, an established systems integration consulting firm.

"Our organization was looking to replace our aging on-site telecom equipment, but more importantly wanted to increase the overall functionality, redundancy and remote connectivity. VoIP offered advanced calling features to connect our clients better and improve employee productivity. After evaluating several hosted and non-hosted solutions, M5's Outsourced IP Phone System with Cisco phones and switches was the right solution for our company. Subsequently, M5's sales, customer service and implementation teams have worked closely and effectively with us," said Bill Lehn, Argus Research's Vice President of Technology. "Now, we can run all of our operations from any of our office locations, and we no longer have to invest in an outdated telephone infrastructure because M5 constantly updates and improves its phone system at no additional charge."

"M5's IP telephony offering is a viable solution for many of our customers in the market for a new phone system," said Paul O'Brien, Managing Partner with Lincoln Computer Services. "Together with M5, we can provide a cost-effective end-to-end voice and data solution for our clients, a solution that rivals the reliability and service typically sought by a Fortune 500 company. We provide these services while still meeting and addressing their unique small business requirements and concerns."

Further demonstrating M5's continued strength and momentum in the marketplace, the 400-client mark is an important milestone in the company's history in that it also coincides with the fourth consecutive year of 50 percent or more annual revenue growth. M5's complete, end-to-end solution gives clients a private, dedicated and redundant voice and data infrastructure, a professional support and project management staff, and average cost savings of more than 20 percent when compared to traditional on-premises phone system solutions and service providers.

“More businesses looking for a new phone system are realizing that outsourcing is their best long-term strategy," says Dan Hoffman, CEO and President of M5 Networks. "The service levels are superb, and the functionality and customization options allow business owners to extract the most value out of their phone systems without the hassle of managing the equipment themselves."
