City of Santa Rosa
Just north of San Francisco, Santa Rosa is a vibrant city overflowing with everything there is to love about California. But with the recent budget cuts the city has had to do more with less. Communication is extremely important for the city to connect with more than 1,000 internal employees and also provide service to external customers.
“We find with the ShoreTel solution, particularly compared to Cisco, it’s much simpler to architect and much simpler to manage. And it really fit our city needs.”
— Eric McHenry, Chief Technology Officer, City of Santa Rosa.
The City of Santa Rosa had three major criteria when deciding which solution to upgrade their phone system with. First was total cost of ownership. Second were technology features and finally, the amount of support it would require technicians to manage the system.
“ShoreTel has been able to give us the ability to make decisions in a timely manner in a more efficient way. It’s been a culture change for us.”
— David Guhin, Deputy Director IT Asset Management, City of Santa Rosa.
The City of Santa Rosa implemented a system including 318 licenses, ShoreTel Communicator with Operator Access, ShoreTel Communicator with Professional Access, Softphone, Video and workgroups. They now have the flexibility to remain accessible via computers and phones while employees are out in the field and use resources in multiple places.
“It’s a lot less cumbersome. It’s a lot less complicated. When we move people around we don’t have to worry about adding new switches, adding new phone lines.”
— David Guhin, Deputy Director IT Asset Management, City of Santa Rosa.
