Antelope Valley College has been providing a quality, comprehensive education for a wide variety of learners since 1929. The economic downturn brought more people back to school where AVC had to provide the same stellar service to more students with fewer resources.

Several years ago, Antelope Valley College was at a crossroads with regard to their telecommunication system – their old PBX was crumbling. They needed an IP telephony solution that they could support with existing funding and resources. It needed to be scalable for growth, but more importantly, a new solution needed to be flexible and easy to operate.

Antelope Valley College implemented 1,583 licenses, 120/24 (SG24) and SG24A switches, ShoreTel Communicator with Operator Access, Video and Softphone. Thanks to the user friendly interface, they are able to maintain support of the system with only one telephone technician. AVC IT services now saves more than 60 percent of the time they previous spent on typical tasks.
