Headsets

Headsets are an important accessory for business telephones and are available in a variety of designs with different levels of functionality.

ShoreTel does not sell or support 3rd party headsets but recommends that users review the product information from third party vendors like Plantronics to identify a headset that meets their needs.

Information and support for Plantronics products is available by calling the Plantronics Technical Assistance Center at 1-800-544-4660 and selecting Option 2.

Wired Headsets

This is the most common form of headset that connects to the headset jack of ShoreTel's IP Phones. Some of these headsets may include a wireless link (e.g. Bluetooth or DECT) between headset and base but essentially the connection to the phone is corded.

ShoreTel IP Phones come in two variants:

With built-in headset amplifier

IP 565g/IP 560g/IP 560/IP 265/IP 230/IP 230g/IP 212k

Without built-in headset amplifier

IP 115/IP 110

Bluetooth Headsets

The IP 565g provides a Bluetooth headset option. Customers are advised to make an informed decision when selecting a headset based on the following information:

  • Bluetooth 2.0 support for best audio quality
  • Support for simultaneous pairing to a mobile phone and the IP 565g if required
  • Form factor and design that minimizes the possibility of echo - smaller headsets may not be ideal unless they implement special technology to enhance audio performance.
