Enterasys Distributed Forwarding Engines
- N-Series
Delivering the most advanced Enterasys Secure Networks™ capabilities, the Enterasys Matrix® N-Series is available in 1/3/5/7-slot or standalone configurations-it can scale to fit any size network. You can even embed Dragon® IDS/IPS and NAC with the Enterasys Matrix Security Module. The blades that slide into the N-Series chassis are Distributed Forwarding Engines (DFEs) that fully integrate switching, routing and management functions to assure high-availability. With the N-Series, every blade inspects and classifies incoming traffic, makes L2/L3/L4 forwarding decisions, enforces security and quality of service (QoS) policies, discovers attached voice/video/data users, applications and devices, and authenticates them using 802.1x, Web and/or MAC multi-user authentication.
- C-Series
The SecureStack™ C-series stackable switch family delivers cost-effective Layer 2 switching and Layer 3 routing with embedded security support for 802.1x, Web and MAC authentication, RFC 3580 VLAN quarantine, and support for Secure Networks Policy. Every SecureStack comes with a limited lifetime warranty featuring next-day advance replacement. Advanced QoS capabilities deliver L2/L3/L4 classification, bandwidth flow control and traffic prioritization to support IP telephony (VoIP) and IP Multicast (IPMC) voice/video/data convergence applications. Up to eight (8) SecureStack C-Series switches can be supported in a single stack with one IP address for complete stack management.
